Pain. Physical pain is a sign that something's not right with the body, whether it's the effects on an injury or illness, but there's another side to that kind of pain. That burning, breath-stealing fire along your nerves tells you you're still alive, and still able to fight. Physical pain can make your other senses sharper, almost crystal clean as you push to force yourself away from what's causing the pain.
Emotional pain lingers on longer than the physical. It slows you down, muddies your brain as you try to sort through all the emotions that bog you down.
I've dealt with both and I deal in both, but I know which I prefer.
