AS usual, another busy weekend in this City. The visits were alright. Nice in a few cases, and crappy in others. Nothing new there, I guess.

Euphie? Have you had anyone look at your hand since I cleaned it up? I think your sister would come back here and kill me if I let it get infected or anything...

...Suzaku was here. [She isn't sure what she's told you about him or if maybe you knew him when he was here for awhile.] Two of him actually.

[He finally looks over at her.]

... oh. Are you... alright?

[Nods] They were from different times. One was from six months after and the other...

He didn't know. [Softer] He was just like I remembered him.

... sounds like both of us had a rough day, in the end.

[Shifting, he tugs at their joined hands, pulling closer so he can curl his other arm around her shoulders, tugging her into a hug. It seems like they both need it.]

[She leans into him easily, resting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes. Softly.] It doesn't feel so rough right now.

[It takes him a moment before he leans to rest his cheek against the crown of her head, closing his eyes]

... no. It doesn't.

[She told Suzaku she loved him before coming here. Before dying. She always thought there would be more time to figure things out after the SAZ opened. They could be together then. But that never happened. She'd never even kissed him. Even in all the time he was here in The City, so close and so far away at the same time. She never really knew where they stood except that they were important to each other. That seemed like enough at the time, but looking back now, she wished she was more sure of things.

She didn't want to be unsure with Ken. And if her next question is a little abrupt, maybe it can be blamed on her lack of experience and her lack of romantic role models.]

Am I your girlfriend?

[He isn't expecting her to be so blunt. He blinks his eyes open at the question, shifting to peer down at her with wide eyes. Part of him is relieved she's so straightforward and honest; having been with Mamoru was anything but, but there are times when Ken isn't sure how to handle it. He's used to the person he's close to being evasive and manipulative.]

.... what do you think?

[She has her moments of evasiveness, but she has fewer secrets here than she once did. She'd tell you almost anything with a little coaxing.]

She was hoping for a more direct answer than that. She peeks back up at him with hopeful eyes.] Yes?

[He's smiling, faintly, down at her, looking a little nervous.]

[Smiles back at him, because sometimes he asks very silly questions.] Of course I do.

[Don't most men? He raises his hand to cup her cheek]

... are you sure? I'm not an easy person to get along with sometimes.

[Apparently. You've met Cornelia, and you think she worries about being close to people who can be hard to get along with?

And she feels those butterflies again at the touch, but she's still sure of her answer.]

Do you want to be my boyfriend, Ken? [Watching him.]

[Look, he's blushing a little again. It's all your fault, Euphie.]

Yeah. I do, even if I kinda suck at whole boyfriend thing.

I'll be the judge of that. [She will accept the blame for this. You can tell she regrets it a lot by the way she brightens considerably and moves in for a kiss.]

[There's a chuckle from Ken before he bends lower to brush a gentle kiss across her lips]

[She will enjoy that kiss before giving you a slightly more eager one. She's just very, very happy right now.]

[Another surprise for Ken, but he kisses her back, eager, but still keeping it gentle.]

[Gentle is fine by her and when the kiss breaks she snuggles in closer. Smiling against him.] I have a boyfriend.

[Tucks her in close to his chest, loosely hugging her]

Yep, you do.

It is better to talk about these things. [Haaaaaaaaaaappy.] Umi's a little protective of you, isn't she?

[That just makes Ken chuckle again]

That's putting it mildly. She's... family to me. We've been through a lot.

I'm glad. You need some protection I think. [Teasing a little, but she is glad.]

I like Umi. I like her more when she isn't talking about hurting my sister though. [Playing with Ken's hand a little. Just touching him. Exploring lightly.]

[He turns his hand over, letting her touch as she wants. There's not hesitation about the scars on his palm.]

She's a handful, isn't she?

[Runs the tip of her finger over one carefully.] She's a little surprising at times.

I hope Cornelia wasn't too hostile though. She's very protective too. And after... Well, I haven't seen her since I was home except for this weekend.
