[Umi herself is a bit worse for wear. Of all times to be missing her magic... But it doesn't matter. Strength in numbers. She trusts they'll be alright. When they make it to a place that looks remotely away from danger they may well ask Fuu to take care of their wounds.]

We should try to see if we can help the others.

[Kazuo is walking along calmly, as if he has all the time in the world. And really, he might as well have. He pauses when he senses Ken and just looks at him. There's a crossbow in one hand and a knife in the other. Based on the blood already on the latter, he's already used it.

He lifts his crossbow and aims it directly at Ken. And fires.]

[Kazuo gracefully moves out of the way, watching every move that Ken makes. It's like he's absorbing information as he goes and he drops the crossbow because hey...it's useless. Bringing up the knife, he shifts his balance before rushing in to attack Ken with it.]

[If there's one thing Kazuo is good at, it's learning things in the moment. So he lands hard on his back but is soon rolling away from Ken and literally backflipping back onto his feet, rushing forward. He's faster than he was before when he slashes.]

[If he's confused, he doesn't show it as he sprints towards the voice. If something's making a noise like it's loading or warming up, Ken will do his best to get the hell away from it.]

I'm in the forest. I'll make my way south and try to find the pond.

I'm doing fine for the moment. War and attrition are things I know, and I'm staying out of the way as best I can. They gave us a weapons cache to raid also, so I armed myself and then went back into hiding.

If we can hold out for one day taking as little damage as we can, that will be that, I hope.

I'm doing my best to keep out of fights since I'm not the nutjob I used to be. I just wish I could've found some bagh nahks or something similar. Knives are fine, but I just prefer my own weapon.
