Umi, the muffins were really good. Think you could teach me how to make them?
[weiss filter]
Aya, are you up for patrol tonight? My head is killing me.

"I'm sorry, Doctor. I'm Omi Tsukiyono. This is Ken."
He smiled encouragingly when Ken took the pills, squeezing his hand.
"Do you think it's whatever has been going through the City?"
action
At least Ken had taken the medicine. It was still worrying though that he might be suffering from something much worse. Had he really thought Solomon had drugged him before?
Ringing out the cloth in the cold water, he placed it on Ken's forehead. The fever was the more immediate concern, it was just a good thing that he'd been called when he had.
"It's quite possible, yes." Reaching into his bag, he pulled out the supplies for the IV. Hopefully Ken would cooperate... "I'll need you both to keep a close eye on him for a few days. And if anything changes at all, I want you to give me a call..."
action
That was troubling enough already.
"Alright."

"I'll stay with him. Absolutely."

Ken pulled at the hand Omi was clutching, but his eyes were losing the almost wild light they'd had for a while.
"... I'll be fine."

"Then you know what comes next... If you could, I'd like you to make a fist..."

It was fortunate that Solomon's chiropteran senses were more attuned to the flow of blood in potential prey. Tapping on the man's arm, he gazed intently at the flesh, picking out the pulse under the surface of the man's flesh.
With a slight smile, he honed in on just the right spot, and swiped it with an alcohol pad before pressing the needle directly into the vein.

"All done... now, just try to relax while the IV does it's job. Hopefully, you should be feeling less ill shortly... I'll come back in and check with you in a few minutes, alright?"
He smiled over at Omi, a reassuring gesture. "This should help... but maybe we should give him a few moments rest. Would it be an imposition to have you make some tea while we wait? I could use something to drink..."

"... go on. Get yourself something to drink, too."

"I hope you don't mind... but in Ken's current state, I felt it would be easier to ask about his thought patterns lately by coming out here for a few minutes." Pulling a clipboard from the side pocket, he began to make notations of his patient's condition. "Has he been acting differently than normal? More suspicious, hostile.... delusional? Anything unusual that might mean this is something more
seriousthan a simple fever."action
action
"He's never like this. He's not mean or sarcastic, he's -- he's the happiest person I know."
action; you guys aren't the target of his temper : P
Tapping his pen lightly on the medical chart, Solomon ran through the list of symptoms currently running rampant in the City.

"What Omi said is true. You don't need to ask me."
