[She offers him the injured arm.] It's really fine. It was just a pen. [The moment there is actual contact she knows exactly what that feeling of butterflies people talk about is. She's also doubly grateful to whomever gave her back the ability to feel those things again.]

[She watches him curiously.]

... yeah, but that wasn't the worst thing.

[He leads her to the spare bedroom and nods for her to sit down as he crouches to get the first aid kid. It's a biiiig one, much bigger than the usual, and when he opens it, it looks like most of the smaller parts of an er are in there. He takes a moment to rummage around before he pulls a few things out, then reaches for her arm again, intending on looking it over carefully.]

I know it was, but ink can infect pretty easily and I kinda hurried to clean it up the first time.

What was the worst thing?

[She sits as beckoned and watches him go through the kit. It doesn't really surprise her given his profession—now and before. She's glad he has something on hand like that.]

I didn't realize that. [But the wound itself is doing pretty well aside from needing some of the fresher blood and dead skin cleaned away.] I hope you don't get attacked with writing implements often. [Little smile. It's amusing...maybe?]

[He sits in silence for a long moment, his touch almost oddly gentle as he cleans the injury.]

Someone kidnapped a teenage girl and dropped her off in the Shadow City. She's back here and all, but we had to go after who did it.

[She notices how careful he's being with her. It's sweet.]

Is she all right? Did you catch the person?

[Stifles a little sound and her arm tenses as he cleans a more sensitive area of the wound.]

[He immediately pauses, letting a moment pass before he finishes up and starts to bandage it.]

She's being taken care of and... well. I can't really say a lot about the case.

I understand. I'm glad she's being taken care of at least.

You must be a hero to a lot of people here by now.

[There's a soft, bitter chuckle from Ken at that as he moves to snap the kit closed again.]

Nope. No one in this city even realizes the things we do. They don't care the work we put in to try and keep them safe.

[Her hand reaches out again this time to softly touch his arm.]

I realize it. [Looking up at him.]

[Sighing softly, he glances down at her hand, looking a little lost.]

... thank you. I'm... glad someone does.

I think it's probably more than just me.

[She takes his arm a little more confidently and attempts to draw him toward her.]

So, it's complicated? [Might have listened to you talking to Umi too.]

[And now, it's his turn to blush and glance away even though he lets Euphie pull him closer]

... yeah. Complicated.

[Okay, you blushing is really cute, and it calms some of those nerves she's been feeling.] How can we make it simpler then?

[Assassins don't like the idea of being cute, Euphie, but from you, it's okay.]

I don't know. Nothing is really ever simple for me...

Euphie, people can get hurt when they're close to me... It'd kill me if it happened to you...

[Moves her hand down to his to thread their fingers together.] I'm already close to you.

Euphie, death isn't the worst thing that can happen. I just... don't want you hurt. I promised your sister I'd protect you...

All the more reason to stay close so you can keep an eye on me, right? [Hopeful. Worried.]

[Still looking down at their hands]
